Weeks & Weekends

I've been busier than I have been in many months these past few weeks. I'm really enjoying working part time now. It's only been 4-6 hrs per week for the past few weeks and I love it. According to my sales rep, he'll be able to give me 8-10 hrs per week going forward. YAY!!! That's exactly the number of hours that I wanted. I am so excited.

My latest news is that the High School Vice Principal at Noah's school (which is a K-12 school) advised me that they want me to start tutoring at their school. Any hours for tutoring (which 'could' be 10-12 hrs per week) will be completely casual (meaning they are my choice) and within school hours. This means, I can very easily work this to coordinate with my Merchandising job and still ensure Noah will not be in day care. I am nervous about working with high school students, but on the other hand I am really excited. It will be great 'work' experience for my resume. As well, it gets my 'foot in the door' at the school (which is where I really want to work on a permanent p/t basis). I also heard that one of the permanent Teacher's Assistants will be leaving in September - which will leave an opening for the job I WANT). So I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Noah's school has a brand new Home & School committee, which I was elected to be Treasurer for (a few months ago). Treasurer duties are 'picking' up now that we have a bank account. I am also coordinating our fundraiser (first the pilot with the committee, then the roll out to the whole school in September)....which is taking much of my time. I am LOVING the experience as well as the networking opportunities.

We went on a road trip this past weekend in Moncton. What a fantastic weekend. I met a 'facebook' friend that I hadn't met before - had a great chat and can't wait for the next time, spent a good portion of the day with another great friend along with Noah & her son - at Crystal Palace and had a great evening with family on Saturday night (oh, and a great meal - thanks Denise). The weather was FANTASTIC....I even got a little teeny sunburn. Sunday, we went to our favourite breakfast buffet and went shopping at Costco (spent more money than I had intended to). I was happy to be home, though we've promised each other that it won't be as long as it was this time to go back for a visit!

You see, life as I have known it for the past year is changing rapidly and I love it. It feels great, though, now that I have 3 balls in the air (on top of the mother & wife role) I'm working on a finding the new balances to make it all work!

Praying things work out for you! I'm beginning to explore my options in the work world too! I'm trying to find something that I can do from home or in the late evenings so we can avoid too much childcare expenses! I HATE this economy!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one juggling a bunch of things at once. Have you decided on the tutoring for sure?

We are going to a wedding near Moncton (Parlais Beach, I think?)end of June. Any suggestions on things to do. We'll be there all day Friday with the wedding on Saturday. We don't have time to do much but I'd like to do something.
