Our lovely little dog was 'almost' a goner tonight. I feel sick to my stomach just thinking about it....
We were all sitting down to watch a movie when we realized that Mimi was not in the same room as us (which NEVER happens). We assumed we forgot her from outside, so I went upstairs and called her. I called her repeatedly and she did not come. So I went to the front window to look out to see if I could find her.
OH, did I ever see her in action. She was CHASING a pick up truck down the middle of the road. Why? I have no idea. She is a 10 lb little ball of love, not one of those dog chasing big dogs.
At quick glance, I could see 2 cars heading towards us and one going away from us (behind her behind the truck).... I started to freak, yelling "Jacques, Jacques go call Mimi before she get's hit". I wanted to keep an eye on her so I could yell down to him which direction she was going. It seemed to take him forever (but it was only my fear that slowed time down)....I yelled again "Jacques hurry up, there are more cars". At this point, I could now see at least 3 cars passing in front of our house..... THEN, Jacques called her and she started running towards the house....
I swear, it was within a foot or two of her getting struck by one of the cars..... As she was running and I was witnessing the near accident, I was *literally* screaming on the top of my lungs......
SHE MADE IT. SHE'S ALIVE. But she's one tired girl and she's dripping wet.
I can't wait for her to dry off and cuddle with her knowing how lucky we are that she is still alive.......

Oh my goodness!! Someone needs to remind her she is a dog and not a cat which means she does NOT have nine lives!!
Glad she's okay Tara. Who knew that the little fluff ball had that much spunk in her!?!?!? Chasing a pickup truck...I laughed so hard at the visual! Of course, I was able to do this because I already knew she was home safe.
