I've been busy with Noah's class, training for my new job, cleaning and taking care of my poor tooth....
I keep thinking about things to write about on my blog but then never get around to it. When I 'get around to it', I have another 'thing' to write about but then something comes up and I don't write about it so I'm just going to 'blab' on this post about what's been going on!
I've been in Noah's class much these days knowing that I am starting my p/t job soon and will not be able to be in his class as much as I have been. I'm feeling really sad about this but know it's something we have to do as well as something that will be good for me in so many ways. I am VERY lucky and so far I am pretty sure I will still be able to volunteer 1-2 days per week with his class (instead of 3-4 days per week like I have been doing). I really DO need to count my blessings that I have the opportunity to spend so much time in his class as I do!
Training for my new job has been a blast - in my pj's, with a hot cup of tea at the computer. You gotta love that, huh? I LOVE how MOST of this company's training, communication & reporting is online. We had a conference call just this morning - a little more training. Right before the call, our computer (or so I thought) went 'kaputs'....I was in panic mode. Once I got the laptop set up and re-organized my work area I calmed down and got logged on to the call. Then figured out it was the monitor (only)...feeeooouuu!
After my conference call, Noah & I took off to Staples to get a new monitor. WOW, talk about a treat going from a 15" to a 22"!!! You gotta love that!!!
Now my poor tooth. Let me start by saying that I've never had a cavity since I was a kid nor have I had any dental work done since I was - well, it's been YEARS (possibly over 10 years). Last November, our new dentist advised that all of my silver fillings needed to be replaced because there was 'evidence' of cavities forming under them. I found this weird, so I called our old dentist in Moncton. He told me it 'could' happen but was not at all 'likely'. He suggested I go to another dentist for an initial visit. All I could think about was that 'initial visit' cost that I just had at this new dentist at a nice price tag of around $200. So against better judgement, I went ahead to begin getting these old fillings out. The first visit SUCKED. After having my mouth open for so long, my jaw was SO stiff after the appointment. I felt sick and had a brutal headache.
After this visit, the one tooth has caused nothing but problems. I have been back to the dentist office 6 times and have had fillings in & out 4 times (medicated fillings, temporary fillings, permanent fillings, etc). Since the last one, my tooth has been ACHING so much so that I"ve had to take Tylenol on several occasions. When I went back this time, he told me it was an abscessed tooth and that he'd have to do a root canal - YIKES. Apparently, this is a 2 step process. Right now, I am on antibiotics with another temporary filling to let the infection drain. Then I have to go back on April 30 to have the root canal. Although, I think I may have to go in next week... He told me my tooth should NOT hurt after the antibiotics has a chance to kick in and guess what, it still HURTS very much. OUCH.....
So now you can understand why I've been MIA (missing in action)....and now you're all caught up. Heading into Easter weekend. We're going to have a big ham supper on Saturday night, an egg hunt Sunday morning, I'm getting the van cleaned inside & out tomorrow (that alone will make it a perfect weekend), Jacques is home from his business trip in Toronto (that makes it perfect too) and we're having company (Jacques' brother, his wife - Noah's God Parents and their 2 kids).....should be a terrific weekend.....YIPPY!
Hope you all have a FANTASTIC Easter weekend!
