Saturday night, we celebrated Noah's 8th birthday party - STAR WARS style. We had a blast.
This was the BEST party we have hosted for Noah. Maybe due to the fact that we had less kids over or maybe due to the fact that our baby is getting older!
We did something different this year for the planning of Noah's birthday party - we gave him a budget. We gave him $100 and told him he could keep a $100 bill to buy a gift, have many children for a birthday party or a small party and a gift. It went better than expected....he embraced the idea and made some really great choices.
All in all, Noah's birthday party cost us about $73 - so now he gets to keep the other $27 for himself (that was the deal)!
A little peak at his #8 birthday cake with Star Wars figures.
All of our young Jedi masters, making a toast to being together.

After supper, but before cake & presents the boys decided they wanted to play outside.
They were all awarded their 'official' Jedi robes and played outside for a few hours.

Most of the party, the boys were outside playing with Noah's new baseball (from Zach).
I 'think' this was his favourite gift at his party!

Getting ready for the sleepover part of the party.
To our surprise, there was a Star Wars marathon all night.
We PVR'd the shows and the boys 'watched' (well, kinda) one of the episodes.

The whole time the boys watched the movie, had pillow fights and horsed around, Jacques & I stayed at the kitchen table playing card games & Yahtzee. It was a perfect setup! At one point, I asked Jacques 'who he thought would fall asleep first' and he said 'you & me'!!! We did place bets about who would fall asleep first....but neither one of us was right. At dark, we all did sparklers outside and nearly froze our tushes off!!!

Lights out at 11pm. Jacques & I were tired & ready for bed.
By this time, Noah & Isaac were already asleep.
We didn't hear anything after we turned out the lights,
so we know Zach & Caleb fell asleep not long after
Sunday morning, all the boys were up by 6:30 am (eeeech)!By 7:30, they ate breakfast and by 8:00 they were outside playing.
Zach & Isaac were picked up at 10am and Caleb ended up staying until after lunch playing with Noah & his new Star Wars toys, baseball and more games.
GREAT FUN was had by all......including Jacques & I.
Happy Birthday to our little Jedi Master!

I know I've told you before but I just LOVE that you're such a fun mommy and give Noah the chance to make his own choices. Great party - Happy Birthday to Noah!
Glad to see Noah had a wonderful party!!
Hi Tara, I managed to get a few minutes today to myself and thought I could catch up on a few things with you here. I mentioned to Bill that I needed to call you and see how how you were celebrating Noah's b-day and here you have the full update. Love what your doing here - I can picture you telling me the story in person. Take care and happy belated b-day to Noah!
