First...
I went to a sugar camp with all the Grade 2's in Noah's school today - had SO much fun. On the drive to the camp, in the bus I caught Noah acting silly with his 'buddies'. He was pretending to 'kiss' the back of the seat while saying 'Hey guys look, I'm making out with the seat'.
OH LORD, please help me!
Second...
After seeing a girl in the grocery store that was not very well 'covered', a cute conversation has now left me a little giggly & worried all at once. It went like this:
N: Mom, why do girls like to put those (*cupping his hands on his chest*), what are they called again?
M: Bras?
N: Yes, those. Why do girls like to put those down lower so boys can see more?
M: Ummm, well maybe some boys like that. Do you like that?
N: Ewuuu, NO that's gross Mommy.
M: Oh okay.
N: Actually, can we have "open mike" right now Mom? ("Open mike" is a new thing we do at special cuddle or bedtime now - it's where he can say ANYTHING that is on his mind without me saying ANYTHING - including consequences or getting upset)
M: Yes, any time Noah.
N: Mom, I kinda like that now.
M: Ummmm, really. That's okay but can I just ask you ONE teeny, tiny thing?
N: Yes Mom.
M: Just wait a few more years, because right now you're just a little too young.
AAAHHHH, it was SO hard NOT to say anything.
OH LORD, please help me!!
QUESTION: Any of you with boys of your own, or nephews, or friends that have kids - have they started these types of conversations with you? How have you handled these situations?

Tara, the irony is that by the time they are 'old enough' to talk about it, they no longer want to talk about it WITH YOU! It doesn't get any easier, I'm sorry to say!
LOL!! My little nephew always tell us he likes boobies (aka breast)!! Lee Jr. has never talked about it and gets red when other bring it up so I have been safe!
Nice chatting with you today!!
Oh Sheesh! I have no idea...no experience in this WHATSOEVER! I do love your "open mike" idea...good job!
