They won, they won.....I'm so happy.

A little Sunday drive

We decided to take a Sunday drive - ON Sunday!!! We had originally intended to go play 3 holes of golf at this 'really' cool park in Florenceville - where it's FREE!!!

We ended up driving to Hartland - to visit the world's longest covered bridge first, then to Florenceville.

After finished at the Covered Bridge in Hartland, we drove to Florencevile to a really cool park called 'Sam's Park'. It's an amazing park - with horseshoes, a huge play park, trails to walk, a huge fish pond and the BONUS, there are 3 holes of par 3 golf! So our intention was to take the kids golfing and play at the park.

After the first hole, we were sweating buckets and decided to finish the 3rd hole then get back home ASAP where we had a really nice cool pool waiting for us.

On the drive home, we picked up a pizza. We threw the pizza in the oven to keep it warm and jumped in the pool. We cooled off, ate supper then went to church.

WHAT a perfect SUNday.... I am SO happy for the warm weather we've been having! It makes having a pool all worth while!

Visitors

We LOVED having Owen & Isabelle for the evening on Friday night.

The boys got caught up. They went swimming, on the trampoline, inside....it was cute to see them play together a whole year later! Owen has grown up so much from what I remember (as has Noah, but we've seen the change in Noah and not in Owen).

They are still CRAZY cats!!!

Our Isabelle wanted to join in some swim time fun as well!

After our barbecue, we had a campfire. We roasted some spider weenies, made some s'mores.....

....and got told some scary stories by the 'big' Isabelle! Mostly about ghosts and scary events that happened. Noah & Owen listened INTENTLY and were quite impressed.

Poor Noah - our 'Mr. Fix-It Boy' - repeatedly tried to explain away to make the stories make sense or possible - all the while his sweet little face showed fear!

This particular story (as seen from Owen's point of view) was HILARIOUS....

The 'big' Isabelle went on and on about this scary stuff.......and at the end, it wasn't really a scary story, she was describing these scary boys which ended up being Noah & Owen....

When the 'big' Isabelle finally said this, this was Owen's reaction.....we had a good laugh!!! It was so sweet!

We had some left over sparklers from Canada Day that we let the kids burn.....

The boys slept in the tent. They went in the tent around 11pm and who knows what time they actually fell asleep.

Considering they wanted to get on the road in good time, we went out to wake them up around 8:30 or 9:00 am. We 'scratched' on the tent and walked around making noises. Check out the silhouette of the 'big' Isabelle in the top right corner of the tent!!! LOL She went over and started poking Owen to wake him up!

So glad to have had Owen & Isabelle overnight....thanks for stopping in!

Just stopping in...

....to say 'hi'!

I'm enjoying a nice hour of QUIET during my kiddos quiet time which doesn't usually happen on a Friday, but I'm the MOM and I decided it was for the best today!!!

Plus, a great friend (Isabelle) and her son (Noah's best friend - Owen) are stopping in tonight from Moncton which we are ALL really looking forward to. The temperature is already 34 Celsius, the tent is up (for the boys to have a camp out), the pool is clean and all the fixin's are ready for a barbeque & campfire with S'mores later in the evening!!! YAY.......now all we need is our guests of honour and we'll be all set!

It will probably be a late evening, so I told the kids that they could have quiet time today - just the same - in preparation for our late evening!

Fun weekend in PEI

Yet another weekend away (and the last for a while)!!

Last weekend's destination: Prince Edward Island

Jacques took Friday off work work and considering Monday was a holiday (at least in New Brunswick) - we had an extra long weekend.

We left Friday morning, made a stop in Moncton for our favourite restaurant for lunch! We also took 30 minutes (maybe it was closer to 45 min, eh honey!) in Isabelle's favourite store (Urban Planet) to get some school clothes - and THAT we did! Love this store maybe as much as Isabelle does, though my love is the prices rather than the style!

We also took the time to drive around a bit in Dieppe to show Isabelle where we used to live. It was fun driving around 'memory lane'!

We left from Dieppe/Moncton for PEI. Once we arrived at Krista's, we had a fantastic supper and a few drinks. Later in the evening, Lori, Olivia, Rilynn and little Luke who is QUITE the cutie pie!

Then there's Lori and I. She is a great friend, that I don't get to spend enough time with!

We all slept in on Saturday morning, then Isabelle & I went shopping in the afternoon. We managed to have a really fun afternoon (considering how much I "LOVE" shopping - NOT)!!! My girl is teaching me to enjoy shopping - at least when we're together!

By Saturday night, it was the time for the adults to enjoy some fun to celebrate Jacques birthday!

This is Leo & his biological daughter - Katelynn (who have just been re-united in the past 3 months). It was an honour meeting Katelynn and having her come out with us. She is a little sweetie, very friendly and so lovable!!!

I LOVE this below photo - we teased Leo! Just imaging Katelynn saying 'EWWWWW, 'this' is my biological dad'!!! LOL

We went to eat Mexican at 'Pat & Willy's Cantina'. It was YUMMY, especially the 'super size' drinks and a night out ALONE with NO kiddos!!!

The kids had fun at home while we were out.....check out the videos on our private adoption blog (email me if you want me to add you).

First thing, Sunday morning we headed to my dad's and had a great day by the pool (check out more photos on our private adoption blog).

Jacques took turns with the kids, having them on his shoulders. When Isabelle & Noah tried this, the below photo is what happened - cute!!! It didn't quite work out!

By night fall, dad (& Jacques) prepared a great campfire. We had roasted marshmallows and S'mores - YUM! And no campfire (with dad) is complete without his guitar and a little sing-a-long! It took some convincing - but the grandkids & kids ended up winning!!! Though I know dad doesn't read my blog - I'm still going to thank him!!!

We also did fireworks and not just little cheap ones. These ones were AMAZING! Nicole had got them from Ontario and spent a small fortune on them! One funny/scary part was when one of the bundles fell on it's side and the fireworks were shooting directly at the house and into the woods. We all laughed but dad & Jacques went running into the woods to ensure none had caught fire. After all was safe, we did all have a good laugh!

Though I have no photos, we ended the lovely weekend off with some good ole fashion COW'S Ice Cream and got a t-shirt each.

PS - don't know why my post has so many breaks between each line. I keep fixing it, but it keeps doing it....so it will stay as it is!

Saturday - we went to visit the Aquarium & Marine Museum.

This seal seemed to want to 'pose' for the camera, then he played dead....it was HILARIOUS.

We stood in the rain for what felt like forever just to see this little guy do his little show!


If you look close enough at the photo, you can see all the water drops in the photo to prove just how much rain was falling - it was yucky!



Sunday - we went to the Acadian Vllage.




This photo (once I downloaded it) made me laugh. I thought 'hmmm, I wonder what Isabelle was thinking - letting Noah hold up this wood door while she puts her head in there'


Jacques, Isabelle & Noah got in a little wrestling match. It all started with the 'big' kid (Jacques) pushing Noah a little bit in the bush while we made him go in and retrieve the water bottle he 'whipped' in there out of frustration!!

And another....

Okay....some may think this is getting ridiculous but we're having SO much fun. We are AWAY for the weekend, yet again (and we're going away AGAIN next weekend)!!! Oh well.....

Yesterday, Isabelle confessed that she really didn't want to be on the Provincial team for soccer - so we left that choice to her. Considering she chose NOT to continue on the team, it opened up our weekend for plans (there was supposed to be a tournament this weekend for this team).

With this opening, we snatched the opportunity to take a weekend away to do something Jacques has dreamed of doing for many, many years now. Tonight we are spending in Caraquet, NB so we can visit the Acadian Village. It was pouring rain ALL DAY today, so we changed our plan to visit the village tomorrow and today we visited the Aquarium Museum in Shippagan, NB.

The museum was okay and it was small. Had it been a nice day, it would have been SO nice to walk around the grounds and spend more time outside with the seals, but we still had fun.

By the time we got back to Caraquet, we were too early to check into our hotel. We stopped to get a few treats for tonight in the hotel then came to get checked in. The minute we got into the hotel, we all 'stripped' (of course, this IS NOT as bad as it sounds!!!) into our bathing suits and headed for the pool, water slide and hot tub!!! Fun, fun, fun!
