LOST

For so many reasons this title was perfect.

1.  The season finale of LOST on Sunday.
2.  The church service I went to on Sunday.
3.  The way I am feeling lately!

So for those 3 reasons, I wanted to write a little about being LOST!

The season finale of LOST...let me just say, I'm happy this show is over.  Now don't take me the wrong way, but I was lost for most of the last several seasons.  I dozed off and on of the season finale...but woke up at the very end to see the final scenes (quite possibly the reason I was so lost??).  Either way, the message is that the lost had been found!

Now, we were away this weekend to Moncton.  While Jacques golfed, Noah & I shopped.  We had to do, what we had to do!!!  BUT...I don't really care for shopping that much.  Though I did get some cute new clothes, I would have preferred being home setting up our pool for the HOT weather!  Either way, we had a great weekend but glad to be home.  While in Moncton, we went to the Wesleyan Church for the Sunday morning service....can we say WOW!  The service brought me to tears (literally) and the sermon was all about the LOST.  The parable of the lost sheep, coin & son (Luke 15).  The message was that the sheep, coin and son were lost in different ways but when they were found there was rejoicing.  The message is that Jesus wants us to be found and if we ARE found then we are to find the lost.  WOW...powerful.

It's hard to believe that the Wesleyan (as we knew it) is the same church we were married in 10 years ago (on July 1).  NOW, they have added several additions and it's HUGE!  It doesn't even resemble the place we were married in!! 

Noah &; I had a great time at a different service with a whole band playing music, the big screens and the little skit. 

So #3, with my trip to Haiti being cancelled I've been feeling a little lost lately.  I keep wondering if maybe a mission trip is not in my near future, possibly I should direct my focus and energy elsewhere. 

Just last week, we met missionaries from Kenya who (get this) just started a jewelry ministry.  They have a group of 10 women making pottery beads and necklaces. I bought 3 of these absolutely beautiful necklaces and started to buy a whole bunch of beads to make necklaces to sell.    When they realized we were going to make necklaces to sell on their behalf, they just GAVE me a bunch of beads for free.  So NOW, we are selling earrings for Haiti and necklaces for Kenya.  They also offered us to come and visit them in Kenya...WOW!  I would LOVE that, Africa is one of the places I'd love to travel to.  That said, it's a VERY expensive trip that I really don't foresee happening anytime in the next few years.  So I will wait....

The day we met the Kenny's from Kenyay, Noah & I got to spend the afternoon with their son. He came out for supper with Noah & I and played with Noah around the house before we went to our 'bible study' where the Kenny's gave their presentation.  It was fun and Tristan was SO well mannered and polite!  What a privilege to spend some time with him.

This post is a couple of weeks old now...and I'm just getting around to posting (shame on me)! 

Life since then seems to have taken some shape...looking forward to many changes coming in our family.  Keep posted!

My new favourite show...

Do you remember when I posted THIS POST?    I LOVE this show:  Meet the Wilson's...can't wait for new episodes!

YOU HAVE to watch the show...this couple is the real deal and they are hilarious!  They have SO much fun together (and have great music to boot).  Their energy is great.  

They have their 1st CD being released in JUNE.....I'm SO getting it!  If I could pre-purchase, I would.  You can listen to a few of their songs on their website...they are AWESOME.

NOW....on facebook, Kortney is trying to get their fan base to 10000 by July 1st (side note:  this is our 10th wedding anniversary - YAY!).  NOW...Dave has agreed to have his WHOLE body waxed (Kortney has a 'thing' with waxing) IF they reach their 10000 fans on facebook!

Waiting for 'Superman'

I just saw this trailer yesterday, then my friend Angel posted it on her blog.  Is this a sign, or what???

For those of you who did read our previous posts about our decision process, we HAVE decided to home school Noah in September.

An unlikely friendship....

HAPPY 13TH BIRTHDAY, ISABELLE!

I had the opportunity to take Isabelle out for lunch yesterday for her 13th birthday (her actual birthday is today).  This was the first time in 6 months that I felt ready to spend just one on one time with her...so we did!

It started off by me giving her birthday present, which was a scrapbook I made for her to document the time she spent in our family.  I was not 'really' sure of the reaction I would get and frankly was a little surprised when she began crying when she started to look at it.

We left and decided to go for Chinese Food for lunch.  We had enough food for 4 people and laughed about how she chose Chinese Food on her 12th birthday as well!   It was a little strained for conversation at the beginning, but after we talked for a bit it got easier.  We talked a bit about what happened and how hard it was for all of us to go through this.  I KNOW she would want back in our family in a heartbeat, but that is just not an option.  I told her that no matter what, I will always love her and promised her that even though she couldn't live in our family that I would always be there for her as a friend. She is all alone, and it breaks my heart to pieces.  No little girl should be ALL alone with no one they can depend on.  I told her about one of my favourite versus in the bible that I depend on SO much: 

James 1:2-4
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

It was a lovely visit, but too bad I was sick because I would have loved to spend more time with her.  I pushed myself to go out because I promised her, but I did not feel well at all.

I'm hoping that this is the start of a new and unlikely friendship that will last for years to come!

Great Mother's Day Weekend

What a wonderful weekend, despite not feeling all that great (again)! I'm tired of being sick...3 times in 5 months is too much. All respiratory related. This time, I'm going to the doctor to inquire as to why so much but I figure it has a lot to do with working with 33 Kindergarten students!

So to start, we went to the Shriner's Circus in Presque Isle, Maine.

What terrible parents we are considering Noah had never been to a circus (that he could remember anyways). We had only taken him to the circus once when he was still in a snugly carrier and I remember THAT day all too well. It was STIFLING hot at the Moncton Coliseum and we took our nephews to see the circus (along with Noah in the snugly, cuddled all in tight to my chest). It was SOOOO hot and stinky, it was unbearable!


So we met some friends (that we had met at camp in the winter) - or tried too. It was so busy, we couldn't find them until intermission then the boys came to sit with us for the last half of the show.

BUT....

when the 2nd girl got in we were ASTOUNDED.

This all happened on Saturday afternoon....then my Mother's Day was the absolute best!

Then ALAS, Mother's Day

My day started very early with Noah bringing me a card he had made.  It was SO cute.  On the front, had a flower pot glued with 3 flowers with stems.  You could pull out the flowers and written on each stem was a 'coupon'.  One for Noah to make my bed, one for Noah to make a tea for me and one for another chore to do for me.  It was SO sweet & special!

Then our day was started.  Without a question of what I wanted to do just happened!  We made plans to drive a friend of Noah's (and his little sister) to a hospital in Quebec City (about a 3.5 hr drive) to visit their mom (as a complete surprise to their mom!).  It was a wonderful day with 2 extra kiddo's in the car.  The boys had a blast...singing and dancing.  We had SO much fun.

When we arrived, we all had a big cry watching the kids surprise their mom.  It was AMAZING....  So we left the kids at the hospital while Jacques and Noah took me out for a Mother's Day lunch (at a place we found (and LOVED) the day we flew out to Orlando).  I was one happy girl!

Though this photo is blurry, it was the MOST hilarious when it happened.  The boys were 'rockin' in out with their pencils (pretending them to be telephones) singing and dancing to the song 'Telephone' by Lady Gaga!  It was SO cute and fun.  Just two bud's, on a road trip, having some good ole' fashion FUN!

AWOL

YUP...that's what I've been up to these days! 

Actually, I haven't been up to 'nothing' - just haven't been blogging so much!

Been working on lots, working around the house (getting organized and ready to home school), getting outside gardens prepared for planting, adding lots more soil (considering I haven't added new soil for 2 years now) and making them look pretty - in preparation to sell next year) but mostly I've been working on Isabelle's scrapbook/life book for her birthday (on May 16).

This scrapbook is the first FULL book I've done digitally and I am completely LOVING scrap booking this way!  It is SO awesome, SO cheap and SO easy to clean up!!!  No fuss, no mess!  I'm going to have all the pages bound into a photo book - it's gonna be absolutely beautiful.  I can't wait for her to get it....I'm sure she'll love it (at least I hope so)!
