I had always wanted to create a photo book (with some journalling) from our Disney vacation, but other than Costco (and we don't have one where we live now) I didn't know where to get this done.
And now I do! Possibly I'm just behind on the times - but in case you didn't know (and are interested) I thought I'd spread the knowledge!

Thankful...
Today I am feeling so thankful! NICO, Jacques cousin came over to help us 'cord' wood - in preparation for our first winter using a wood furnace. To me, this process seems pretty 'primitive' but to many around us SWEAR by heating with wood. I don't know, the luxury of turning the heat up and it being there without having to be adding wood to the furnace to fuel the fire and thus heat the house - seems nice too me! We'll wait and see after we experience our first winter with wood heat. Many people say that once you heat with a wood furnace, you'll never go back.
There has been so many preparations with our house, to prepare for our delivered wood to be 'corded' (cleaning the shed for stuff from the garage, cleaning the garage for wood to be stored, cleaning & preparing under the deck -where the remainder of the wood is stored- so the wood will dry). It's been alot of physical work! I have to admit - right now I'm not feeling too positive about heating with wood. But feeling THANKFUL that Nico has taken so much of his time to help us learn the 'in's and out's' about heating with wood - is something I DO feel!
I am also feeling particularly grateful that our counter tops (that we ordered and paid for 6 weeks ago) will finally be installed. It's been a 'comedy of errors' - taking so long, the wrong counter tops coming in & some not coming in at all, the next ones coming in and being cut the wrong size, etc. Let's just say I am SO thankful (even though I am dreading the work on Wednesday) that we will finally have the FACE LIFT on our kitchen and en suite (the main bathroom's counter top needed to be re-ordered to be cut the correct size - then this will complete the bathroom renovations) that I have so much looked forward to having!!
The only renovations that remain to be completed are all new doors (14 in all - painted and installed - which I am doing myself but need the counters in the garage out of the way to make room to paint), the concrete front step needs to be fixed (which we still can't find anyone to do for us) and the 2 PVC windows in the basement. I also need to do some minor buffing & refinishing of cupboards in the bathrooms (I may decided to do this for all the hardwood as well - we'll see how energetic I feel)! I can't wait for EVERYTHING to be DONE, DONE, DONE - then life can resume to normal - and I can feel like we are not always spend, spend, spending!!!

A little of this & a little of that
At 61 yrs old, my dad 'just' got off his braces. If you knew him, you will see the dramatic results. If you didn't know him, skip the photo!!! LOLA few weekends ago, we had friends over playing games. The phone rang, Jacques answered and I hear him giving directions. My cousin (Joe & his family), were on their way through New Brunswick and called to stop in! It shouldn't have surprised me, considering I told them through Facebook to stop by if they came through NB...but it did because I think we determined we hadn't seen each other since I was (like) 10 years old!
We had a really nice visit before they hit the road again....
Noah had Zach over for a sleep over that night, so we had 5 kids here for a few hours - it was fun watching kids be kids! There was ALOT of energy, that's for sure
The next morning - we decided to take a family day trip to Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Woodstock, NB. to have some fun on the water slides. It was a fun family day!
On the way home, we got 2 scoops for $2. This was the special on ice cream - LIKE we needed 2 scoops...but for $2 BUCKS, how could you refuse! NOTE: Noah has a BOWL of ice cream. We had an incident this summer (twice) that made us realize that if we were traveling or it was a REALLY hot day, bowls of ice cream is better!
Soccer Finals - FIRST PLACE
So the CRAZY BLUES won 1st place for 1 U8 division....picture in the news paper and all! We are so proud of our little soccer player - the same one who DIDN'T even want to play soccer this year.
During the final game, we sat on the other side of the field because friends of ours were sitting there. Noah was SO disgusted that we were sitting on the wrong side of the field. He was so hurt, thinking we were cheering for the 'other' team!!! In fact, during half time we had to go to explain that we were still cheering for the Crazy Blues as well, we had to make sure we cheered a little louder to ensure he heard us! Much of the other team was laughing, watching the expressions on Noah's face as well his body language!!!

Thankfully, Olivia (a daughter of another great friend, Lori) babysat Noah while Jacques & I attended Krista's dad's funeral. She did a great job and so did Noah, considering we don't see Lori & Olivia very often.
After visiting with Krista & Leo, we went over to Lori's for a terrific supper. I felt a little bad, after all it WAS Lori's birthday. At least, we brought a birthday cake for dessert!

Friends...
This picture makes me feel so sad and empty. This photo was taken of Krista, one of my greatest friends, only a few hours after her father's funeral. These rocks are part of her parents property and the view is absolutely amazing.
After her dad's funeral, we went wondering on the rocks. We were supposed to have gone up to visit her parents new place a few other times, but just never made it. It's unfortunate for the reason we made this trip finally :(
Naturally, I had to get some nice portraits of each of us!
When I saw the opportunity to take this shot, I immediately thought of a CD cover....cute, eh!
I thought this was so cool. I mean, I've seen stuff like this before but it always fascinates me - how Mother Nature works. The water (over time) has eroded a hole in the rocks, leaving an inlet where the water keeps eroding more of the rocks.
Oh, and check this one out: a cowboy...hat, nose, lips and all! How cool!

This photo is a prelude of what is to come....although, we wish to see sand from somewhere VERY south!! For the past several years, we keep saying we are going to take a trip south - the 4 of us - but never do. Jacques and I have joked for years that our first trip south will probably end up going when Krista & Leo finally get married, on some little beach in the tropics!!!
At the end of the day, we are so sorry for the passing of Krista's dad, Maynard. Krista and her family continue to be a part of our prayers - in hopes they will find the peace to get through the grief :(

Catch up...
...is all I seem to be doing lately with my blogs & formatting photos. Oh well....I enjoyed my little man last week - EVERY SINGLE DAY - to the fullest! We had fun....mostly just hanging out. He (finally) taught me a few things about his favourite video game and some Pokemon plays, etc. It was fun - so I don't feel guilty one bit for being behind on my blog entries/photos!
This week (the first week of school), I have been playing catch up on lots of calls, household stuff, "ME" time, etc.
So - hang in there - the posts are coming, I promise!
