Who's the best boy in the world?

So when I arrived at daycare the other day, Noah was crying. His feelings were really hurt over something that had happened with a long time friend. Poor little man, he was 'really' crying and was genuinely hurt. As he got his shoes on, we talked about what the little boy said. I asked him alot of questions in order for him to think about what the other boy had done, also a chance to recognize on his own that it was not nice.

As we were driving home, Noah said "thank you so much Mommy for cheering me up, it feels so nice to have a Mommy who is so nice to me". Ahhhhh....my heart was so happy. It opened the door up to talk about orphans, or children in the foster care system. I asked him to think about all the little boys & girls that do not have a Mommy or Daddy to cheer them up when they are sad. We talked a while about it and then this is what the conversation was:

Noah: "Mom, remember how you always tell me I'm the best boy in the world"? (something I tell him every night at the end of special cuddle and every day when I drop him at school or day care).
Mommy: "Yes, I remember honey"
Noah: "Well, that's not true, I'm not the best boy in the world"
Mommy: "Why, yes you are honey. Why would you say something like that?"
Noah: "Because I'm the 2nd best boy in the world"
Mommy: "Well then who is the first"
Noah: "Jesus is Mom, because he does so many nice things for so many people, because he helps everybody when they need help, like that Mommy. That's why He's the first and I'm the 2nd"
Mommy: "You are absolutely correct honey, why didn't I think of that. You are so smart"

I am beyond happy that Noah is learning, accepting and embracing faith.... Since this night, I keep asking though, how did we get from saying a bedtime prayer, saying grace before meals and reading from his 'Super Hero' Bible each night....to his (obvious) understanding? Either way, I am so excited for my little trooper on his journey to Jesus!

Things happen for reasons, right?

Okay - so we got a new house (a cute little house that requires some Renovations) AND we got a fast closing of June 2 (so Noah will have a few weeks at his new school to meet some friends and familiarize himself with his new surrounds - HIP, HIP, HOORAY!!!

When I contacted the moving company last night, I advised we'd be moving on June 2 - but he asked to do it on June 3 (in the event something delays the closing so his staff wouldn't be sitting around on June 2 waiting to move stuff in). Makes sense, right?

But it was just this morning that it all HIT me.....June 3 is Joshua's birthday. Okay, so then I asked myself is this coincidence or the work of God & baby Josh's work? TELL ME, is this irony or a little present to our family? I think, feel and believe that God has a wonderful way of getting the message across AND I think, feel and believe that my dear Joshua has a wonderful way of ALWAYS letting me know he is right here with me despite being in Heaven.

I thank God EVERY day for the 17 days we had with our baby boy and the strength he gave me as well as the strength God continues to give me. I'm just so happy I could cry!!

I realize that our lives are going to get pretty busy over the next several weeks and I may not get the chance to properly honour our little boy on the day of your birth (the way we usually do). Consider this post, our honour to you, baby boy! We remember the 17 short days you lived as though it was just yesterday. We miss you every day and can't believe it's been 5 years since you were born. One day we will be together again but for now, thank you for watching over us and letting us know you are there. Have fun in Heaven my sweet baby - Mommy will never stop loving you!

*******WE SOLD OUR HOUSE******

After 9 VERY long, it finally happened - hooray! It doesn't feel real - but it is. The SOLD sign is up and we close our house in Dieppe on June 12.

Right now, we are in Grand Falls - desperately looking for a house (that doesn't seem to exist). The house we intended to buy (in St. Leonard) - did not work out. As much as we loved that house and wanted that house - it was meant to be. We know it, feel it and trust God's plan for us. Even though we do not know where we will be living, we know it will all work out and we will be TOGETHER. THIS is all that matters. That being said, our hopes are to be moved to Grand Falls in time for Noah to attend his new school for a few weeks to at least be introduced to his new surroundings for the fall. Then summer should be lots of fun - with more than likely lots of renovations in the few choices of houses that we have and lots of family time TOGETHER!

So our new favourite family word is: TOGETHER! It seems to be such an important word these days in our family. Check out the common definitions of TOGETHER and how all of them apply to our family!!!

SOON, our family will be back TOGETHER and this makes me one happy, thankful, thrilled, "gitty", giggly girl!!! TOGETHER, I know this family can accomplish anything.

Call to Prayer for the Orphans in Guatemala

If you are aware of the situation in Guatemala's adoption community, please pray for all the orphans in Guatemala who continue to wait to be united with loving families.

Check out Julia's blog to see photos of some of the poor little "cutie patootees" affected and waiting for their government to release them into loving arms. Julie is declaring that the 1st Thursday of every May will be the National Day of Prayer for the Orphans of Guatemala.

Please pray for the orphans of Guatemala...or if not pray, send out some good vibes to the universe for all these orphans.

Prayer Cuteness

Okay - so if you've been following my blog you'll know that my hubby & I have been separated (not by choice) for 8 months now. This separation has happened because we made a decision to move (to a town 3.5 hrs away) for a new job (last September) and our house hasn't sold (which means we can not move yet). Needless to say, it's been pretty difficult for myself and our son, Noah!

Throughout this journey I have found God (again) and have made him a central part of my life - leaning on him for my support and strength to get through this. Actually, the journey of our separation did not begin this way - but it has ended up this way and I LOVE it....it feels so great to live faith and put my trust in Him. I have also (finally) introduced God into Noah's life and am (finally) teaching him to put his faith in Him also.

I know I've done something right because yesterday morning I heard him talking in his room. Knowing there could not possibly be anyone in his room (or could there be?), I poked my head in to see what or who he was talking to. Then I realized, he was saying a prayer. He was praying to God, asking Him for help to sell our house because he really missed his Dad and wanted our family to be together again. AWWWWW.... I had several tears of both joy and sorry. Joy for his new found faith in God and sorrow for his continued sadness in missing his Dad.

I know this separation has been good in so many ways, possibly more than in ways that were bad and I have Him to thank for this!

The Red Letter Campaign

WOW....I can't believe all this is happening. I know and have faith that it's all 'meant to be'. Listen to this video and you too will be inspired to do something more. Luckily, the founders of RLC (Red Letters Campaign) have given us like minded people (we who are adopting, we who want to make a difference in the lives of people living in extreme poverty, those of us who want to learn more but aren't quite sure how) a place to find all the answers. I've been poking around at RLC - Red Letters Campaign all night and am so pumped!
