Unlucky with goldfish

Okay, so I don't know if it's me or us - but we can't seem to keep Noah's fish alive. Thankfully, we are better parents to Noah then to fish!!! LOL

Right after Christmas, Noah purchased 2 fish & all the fixin's with some of his gift money (which I had been promising him since last year). I put him off this long, so I didn't really feel like I could hold him off any longer. So we welcomed Bob & Leena to our family.

I'm NOT usually a 'fish person' but to support Noah - I was interested. Bob was the usual orange goldfish and Leena was unique, actually 'beautiful' (well, as beautiful as a goldfish could be)!! "She" was orange with a few white stripes. Around her mouth was a big white ring and right on the top of her lips there was some orange that was in the shape of the top of lips - it almost looked like she had lipstick.

The first morning, when we woke up Leena looked pretty sick. She was stuck to the bottom of the filter and her fins were all closed in. The second morning, we found her dead - floating in the water. Oh no!!

A few days pass and poor Bob was looking pretty lonely. I felt sorry for Noah's bad luck and poor Bob. While Noah was at school one day, I surprised him and welcomed home ANOTHER goldfish. Noah called 'her' Rachel and we welcomed Rachel to our family. She is a usual orange goldfish but 'she's' *bright, bright, bright* orange gold.

While Noah & I were away last weekend, Jacques was in charge of Bob & Rachel. Saturday morning, he went into feed Bob & Rachel and Bob was DEAD. Oh my....

So I am not sure what we are doing - but it's obvious goldfish are 'not' our thing! That said, I don't want Rachel to die, but if she does I don't think more goldfish are going to be welcomed to our family. Noah's pretty discouraged & disappointed that he spent so much money for fish that we can't even keep alive! Maybe, despite all the deaths, this WILL be a good experience anyways!
