Great start of our vacation

We're off to a great start on our vacation. We went through Perth (Can) / Fort Fairfield, Maine (US) around 10:30 am. We had great conversation and I even finished one of the two books I brought - WITH my last Tim's green tea in hand for a week ;o( (as I found out from my blogger buddy - Angel, that there are NO Tim's at Disney).

Plus - I got to hang out with some old friends! It's been almost a year since we hung out last!!!


While I was hanging with my friends, the boys played their video games. Noah is getting to use some of his money (that he's been saving for 2 years now for Disney) - we're giving him a $10 / day allowance. The money was BURNING a hole in his pocket!!! When he got bored of video games, he....

...went for some 'bling-bling'!! He LOVES his 'bling'......

What I forgot to mention, was that we managed to get tickets for High School Musical 3 HSM3). What a thrill! What a show! Seriously, if you like musicals (like our family LOVES) you really have to see the High School Music 'Trillogy"! They are - well - obviously Disney. And isn't everything 'Disney' magical?

In my opinion:
The show started off very 'lovey-dovey' with Troy & Gabriella. Nice for me, but not nice for my darling 7 year old SON who believes this is a 'girl' movie. The entire show, I only looked at my watch ONCE. This was only to see how much time was left - because I didn't want it to end.

The music (once again) is top knotch. LOVE IT.....I'll never forget the days of listening to HSM1 & 2 at work on my MP3. The ladies at work used to tease me.... LOL But I was in my own little 'dream world', singing and a-bopping to the tunes.

I CRIED. Yes, I am so sad knowing that this was the last movie with the original characters (or so I read). I still remember the FIRST show - Noah & I watched it in the family room while Jacques studied. At the end, Noah & I danced to 'We're All in this Together' (along with the cast sang & danced). Then the HSM2 - same family room, but this time Jacques joined us (Oct 9, 2007). We had a big coutdown to that show, marked our callendars, etc. Then the HSM On Ice show in Ottawa last March (with my friend Barb & her 'boys'). Then this one....how signficant that it opened in the theatres the night before we leave for Disney! So - it's all great family memories! Oh and secrectly (please don't tell Jacques), I have a crush on Troy (played by Zac Efron). Check out the link - isn't he a cutie pie (young enough to be my son, but still a little cutie) LOL
This show was so different than the first 2....I got the feeling that the producers are gearing it up to be an actual musical. Now, I know there is already a musical out there (somewhere) - but this show had more of a 'broadway' musical feeling to it - yet still FANTASTIC. Even some of the music reflects this....

After the movie, like usual we talked about our favourite parts. Noahs & my favourite part: the junk yard scene and when Troy is in the school hall (or we called it a white box), he's dancing & singing and the hall keeps rolling - really cool. & it keeps. Jacques favourite part: when the boys & girls are singing the song getting ready for the prom.

So, we're just junkies - we admit it! Once the DVD comes out, I'm sure we'll add this one to our collection and watch it hundreds of times (just like the other musicals in our collection - Annie, , The Wizard of Oz, Grease, Dirty Dancing, Camp Rock...etc)!!!

Now, I must get to sleep considering we have to get up at 3:45 am to catch our flight! Both boys are sleeping already - hopefully I'll be able to sleep that well!!!

UPDATE (in the wee hours or the morning): I just wrote my HSM3 review between 2:35am & 3:00am in the morning - how pathetic, but I CAN'T SLEEP. We have a wake up call scheduled for 3:45 am, the alarm is set for 3:45am and Noah's watch is set for 4:00am....do you think we will sleep through and miss our fligh - NOT!!!
