What a great 'surprise' day!

Life is great! Can't complain here...

Noah just went back to school today from a 4 day weekend. Monday was Parent-Teacher interviews - which I CAN'T believe that I completely missed, forgot about, didn't go! What a terrible parent! I felt like a complete SMUCK. Since being at home full time, I have had an AWFULLY hard time managing my time (like being on time, keeping appointments, etc). Before this, I had NEVER missed an appointment and was rarely late. Now, I feel like late is something I always am - or at least running behind and not early and I have now missed 2 appointments in the past 2 months.....sheesh! I'm gonna make a bad name for myself in this little town!!!

Anyways, Tuesday was Remembrance Day and another day off school to remember all of our fallen soldiers. We started the day off with hockey practice (in a c-c-cold arena), then we went to the town's Remembrance Day Ceremony. It was pretty. Simple and heartfelt. My favourite part was when one of the local churches had their choir (consisting of 8-10 members) sing Amazing Grace - just vocals! It was beautiful....enough to bring a tear to your eye. Thank you to all the men & woman that gave (and continue to give) their lives for our freedom!

So, today was supposed to be back to school (and it was for 'most' of the day). On the drive to school this morning Noah told me that the school STINKS from the 'workers' making a new roof. I wondered why (if the fumes were that bad) they had them working during school hours...but that was it!

Around noon, I received a call that the school was closing down - due to the fumes. So I had to go to get my boy - yippy! When I arrived at school, our friends (The Lebels) came home with us. We decided to have Zach over for the afternoon - how much fun is that!!

We had so much fun, a very 'Christmassy' day!

It started by snowman making (from the remaining snow from the weekend's snowfall)! The boys decorated him with Noah's summer hat & neck 'tube'.
Once they came in, we listened (for the 1st time) to Christmas music and did 2 different Christmas crafts for over an hour.

Now we're all relaxing while watching 'The Polar Express' - one of my all time favourite Christmas movies!

Noah's cute comment: As we're watching the movie, when Santa is 'just' about to come out (toward the end of the movie), Noah announces that the 'fake' Santa is about to come out!!! LOL I wonder how many more years we have of 'believing'!

I just wanted to write about what a GREAT day I had! I'm feeling all Christmassy and gettin' really excited for the season!
